Just a quick note to let you all know that we have set the dates for the next two CLUG meetings - Wednesday 27th June 2012 & Wednesday 17th October 2012. Both sessions will be in the afternoon, starting at 1.30pm and finishing around 4.30pm/5pm. Venue details and discussions topics will be posted closer to the events. If you are working on any interesting or challenging projects then do consider putting yourself forward to present - we would love to hear from you and the sessions are always much better when we have a few User Solutions! |

18 LabVIEW Users made the trip to Granta Park for the first Cambridge LabVIEW User Group meeting of 2012. Discussion topics were taken from the recent online poll conducted to see what areas of interest there are within the group and started off with Richard Thomas (PTP) giving an interesting overview of creating Hardware Abstraction Layers with LabVIEW OOP. This involved an explanation of why they are useful as well as how to implement them. Peter Horn (NI) then gave an overview of some of the new tools and technologies developed by NI to help LabVIEW Users ensure they are developing scalable and maintainable code. This is an area of growing interest with LabVIEW Users around the world, as LabVIEW is used in more complex and critical applications. Richard Thomas then showed everyone how his excellent User Interface application - which recently won the NI LabVIEW Coding Challenge - works and how to make graphs slide in and out of the application. Peter Horn then finished things off with a session on the web services tools built into LabVIEW and the different options available. Discussion throughout was lively and active, with some very good points raised and questions asked. A few potential topics have been raised for the next CLUG meeting although there is still time to have your input! If there is something you would particularly like to hear about or present on, then please get in touch with Rachel Wood (
