24 people attended the June CLUG meeting was held at the Trinity Centre on the Cambridge Science Park.  There were some very interesting presentations and lots of in-depth and lively discussion which is exactly what the User Group is all about!

First up was LV Champion Richard Thomas (PTP) who discussed how he uses LabVIEW Scripting in some of his applications and how much he has enjoyed the learning process.  There are many areas of LabVIEW where scripting can potentially be beneficial - such as tools like the JKI Right Click framework and LabVIEW Quick Drop.  Following on from Richard was Mike Bailey (NI) who discussed some work he has been doing with Decision Tables and the benefits they can offer.

After a break for tea, coffee & socialising, Christie Nel (Owlstone Nanotech) entertained everyone with his robot which he has been programming.  Using LabVIEW Christie was able to report information about the robot's emotional state and we learnt that he gets bored if he can't see his red ball toy - the robot, that is ... not Christie!  It's not every week you get to see a dancing robot and the video is available here!

The last presentation came from Peter Horn (NI) who has written a Tetris application in LabVIEW using Obeject Oriented Programming and offered it up for discussion and constructive criticism.  The coding is not yet complete but we will upload it to this website and give you a chance to play with it yourself and / or  improve the current architecture.

Finally, all of the attendees were encouraged to vote for a new logo for the group.  Thanks to the three Users who submitted designs - the winning logo is at the top of this page!
