We were pleased to welcome 30 attendees at the Cambridge LabVIEW User Group meeting which was held on Wednesday 8th October at the Trinity Centre on the Cambridge Science Park. Object Oriented Programming (OOP) was the main topic of the afternoon and Sacha Emery - ATE Systems Engineer at National Instruments - was on hand to give a presentation on the application of OOP within the LabVIEW development environment.
The Open Questions session got quite frisky at times and opinion was divided about the practical benefits of using LabVIEW OOP (LVOOP) for "real world" programming. Feedback on the day also indicated that the content of the presentation was a little too advanced for some of the attendees. We will bear that in mind for the next session and make sure that there is a good balance of information for all levels. By popular request, the next topic will be "LabVIEW Programming Techniques - The Good, the Bad & The Ugly". Copies of the LVOOP presentation and the hand out are available to download from either the Web Links section on the Main Menu or the Downloads item in the top menu. Please note that you need to be registered and logged-in to access this information. |
