It was great to see everyone again at the Cambridge LabVIEW User Group meeting in January.  Although we were a smaller bunch than normal we were entertained by several interesting presentations and a lively demonstration of the NI Vision hardware and Vision Builder software.

Peter Horn's walk-through of the capabilities of the recently improved NI Veristand 2010 system was well received, encouraging plenty of lively discussion.  A presentation was then given by Richard Thomas of Product Technology Partners Ltd, demonstrating a novel use of NI CompactRIO and FPGA technology to achieve a virtual Plug-and-Play acquisition system that automatically adapts to the selection of modules insterted into the chassis, programmable front panel layout adjustment and the use of XML techniques for multi-language application releases.  The afternoon was completed with an open-floor discussion on the pros and cons of LabVIEW development within Windows 7, followed by a general questions and answers session.

Date of the next meeting is set for Wednesday 18th May so do put it in your diary!
